John Pearson wanted to escape civilization for a few peaceful weeks of hiking in the remote land of Tibet. His vacation is disrupted when he catches Sherab, a severely beaten and starved Tibetan woman, attempting to rob him. In trying to help the mistreated woman, John unwittingly becomes a fugitive from justice. It is not until he discovers Sherab's terrible secret that John realizes the danger they now face.
