I have a same sex pair of gerbils I have had the one for around 10 monthes the other around 8 monthes they are both around 1 year old.They are friendly and hand tamed and dont bite.
These are not like hamsters they dont stink gerbils and rats are very good pets dont bite like hamsters either.
