On sale is one of two identical ceremonial (decorative) extraordinarily large Maranao bolo-like kris from Mindanao. It is one meter long and consists of a steel blade with ornate okir motifs on both sides. The okir is a distinctive design motif of Maranao folk art characterized by flowing, geometric patterns. The handle is made of hardwood with brass aplique. Indigenous to Indonesia, Malaysia and Southern Philippines, the kris is well-known for its assymetrical design and is used both a weapon and for ceremonies and rituals.
For viewing and pick-up in Diliman, Quezon City. Price is for ONE piece, the picture with the pair is for reference purposes only. A 10 % discount will be given for the purchase of both items. Local shipping is possible (buyer pays for shipping cost).
