The idea for designmynight.com came on the 1st January 2009 in New York. We asked the hotel concierge where we could go out and the first question he asked was, “how much you got to spend guys?” Unfortunately, “not a lot”, was the answer, but this got us thinking that we were fed up with guides and websites showing all the hotspots in London or the venues with amazing photos and when you show up you have to pay extortionate prices for a cocktail. Or adversely, a bar, perfect for students and quick shots before going out, looks glamorous on various search sites but is definitely not ideal for a special first date!
