The South Puget Sound Program – WSC Native Seed Production Technician is critically important to the development of native seed for restoration. Our nurseries coordinate the production of over 300,000 plant plugs and hundreds of pounds of native seed for several partner organizations, while assembling and updating production protocols for over 100 prairie plant species. The Native Seed Production Technician will assist our nursery team by farmingand processing native seed. Three quarters of his or her time will be spent at native plant nurseries and farms; the rest of the time will be spent conducting on the ground restoration across various prairie preserves. Restoration activities include mechanical and chemical control of invasive species, monitoring key animal and plant species, wild seed collection, and planting plugs.
