Inventory number: D206
popular Moto Guzzi models, this 1954 Airone (Heron
in Italian ) is truly a work of industrial art. This model
features all of the best components and design
upgrades that were made in the long history of the
Airone going back to its original introduction in 1939.
From the ground up the restoration included polished
alloy rims, refitted 200mm alloy brakes and rebuilt
suspension units, including the unique "Upside Down"
telescopic forks. The late model 247cc alloy engine
has been rebuilt and the clutch and transmission
restored as required. Performance was a strong
positive for the model back in the day and, with 13.5
horsepower in the Sport model, Despite the "antique"
styling, both roadholding and braking are of a high
order for the period and the Airone is a very enjoyable
bike to ride.
